The Rental Closet

1. About Us

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of The Rental Closet website and rental services. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. By ordering, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract. Please order responsibly.

3. Rental Agreement

All items remain the property of The Rental Closet at all times.
You are renting the item for a fixed period only and agree to return it in accordance with these Terms.

4. Orders & Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.

  • Prices include rental for the agreed period but exclude late fees, damage charges, or replacement costs.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion.

5. Delivery

  • Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed.

  • Risk passes to you once the item is delivered to the address provided.

  • You are responsible for ensuring someone is available to receive the delivery.

6. Fit Disclaimer

We cannot guarantee fit. Measurements and size guidance are provided for reference only.

If an item does not fit:

  • It must be returned within 24 hours of receipt

  • It must be unworn, unaltered, and in original condition

  • A credit note only will be issued once the item is received and inspected
    No refunds are provided for fit issues.

7. Refunds & Credits

All rentals are non-refundable.

Refunds or credit notes will only be considered in the following circumstances:

a) Late Delivery

If the item arrives after the agreed delivery date and is unusable for your event:

  • You must notify us within 24 hours of the expected delivery date

  • A refund or credit note may be issued at our discretion

b) Damaged on Arrival

If the item arrives damaged and cannot be worn:

  • Notify us within 24 hours of delivery

  • Provide clear photographic evidence

  • Do not wear, clean, or attempt to repair the item
    Upon verification, a refund or credit note will be issued.

Credit Notes

  • Credit notes are valid for 6 Months

  • Non-transferable

  • No cash alternative provided

8. Use & Care of Items

You agree to:

  • Wear the item responsibly and for its intended purpose only

  • Avoid damage, staining, alteration, or misuse

  • Not wash, dry clean, steam, iron, alter, pin, or modify the item

  • Avoid perfumes, oils, makeup, fake tan, smoking, and rough surfaces

Cleaning is included. Any attempt to clean the item yourself may result in charges.

9. Damage, Loss & Charges

You are responsible for the item from delivery until it is returned.

You may be charged for:

  • Stains, tears, burns, missing embellishments

  • Excessive wear

  • Late returns

  • Loss or irreparable damage (up to full replacement value)

10. Returns

  • Items must be returned on or before the agreed return date

  • Late returns will incur additional charges £10 Per Day

  • Return shipping label is provided with every order - it is your responsibility as renter to post back the item on time. 

11. Cancellation

Once an order is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled for a refund. Credit notes may be issued at our discretion only.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses

  • Our liability is limited to the rental fee paid

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including postal disruptions or extreme weather.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
